Our Aims

Legacy Scotland deliver social prescribing services through 1:1 support, group wellbeing sessions and community-based programmes designed to improve health, wellbeing and social outcomes.

We work to support individuals to access appropriate services and activities, and provide therapeutic benefit.

The community will benefit from improved access to early intervention and preventative support that improves health, wellbeing and social inclusion.

We will help reduce social isolation, improve community connectedness and support individuals to build confidence, resilience and independence.

People will be supported to better access and navigate health services, housing support, education, employment opportunities and other essential community resources.

Recent Projects

Board Member, Emma Armstrong AKA The Wee Glesga Poet, has just completed a creative writing course ‘Between the Lines, Beyond the Sentence’ with HMP Shotts, HMP Lowmoss and HMP Barlinnie, over the Summer of 2026 to create a collaborative Anthology of Poetic Prose with Prisoners.

This course achieved the publication of 29 Poets over 3 Prisons, and received fantastic feedback, bringing not only a creative outlet, but a trauma informed therapeutic intervention to men in custodial setting.
